Do you have to work at home or do you have the option to come in a office?
In 2024 the original way is perfect but four years ago I would of did the same thing you did
Enlightening. I really liked your "Quick-Sell Recap" at the end of the call. Good work! #cchacartegui #techbagtrey #techsales #saas #sales #interview #sdr #bdr #mockcall #enjoylife
I appreciate you💯💯
Hi Trey I know this video was posted a while ago, I noticed you were also sucked into devilcorp/smartcircle based off of 9:29 into the video. Did you include that experience on your resume and if so how did you tailor it to your advantage? I’m currently trying to break into tech sales and have 8 months DC experience with AT&T
Hey Tom, This is the first time I’m hearing this I remember seeing smartcircle, but I was so young at the time I just thought it was independent sales for AT&T. I talk about it as door to door sales, which is a form of sales, even though it’s different in interviews I speak to the communication and conversation etiquette, grit, quick rapport building, etc that comes with door to door sales.
I appreciate the response! As someone currently trying to make the transition from Smart Circle to tech sales I appreciate the insights!
@tomsalois7617 no problem! You got this💯
Thank You for laying out the bonus opportunities. #cchacartegui #sdr #bonus #techsales #techbagtrey #enjoylife
For sure! Appreciate you for checking it out💯
Not everyone has a sewing machine smh
tbh I’m not sure how else you would expect to do it? If you don’t have a sewing machine, take it to a tailor and they will fix the jacket for you
Tech Sales is a game changer. If you own your self development and seek self mastery, you will make life changing money. 500k and up is common
You spitting some real stuff🚀🚀🚀
First version was better
I feel you on that. The cuffs were too stretched tho
This calmed my nerves a lot lol
Glad it helped💯
people keep saying it’s hard getting into tech sales
Hey Amber, it’s relative. It’s still possible. But a lot of people have all these stipulations (fully remote, 6 figures, etc) for their first role instead of getting into a space that they have experience in and then after they have tech sales experience they can go after the better ones.
I currently manage money right now do you think tech sales could help me
Yes it can. I’m sure there are software tools you use everyday in money management. Those are tech companies you could go to with your experience, I’m sure they could use someone who knows the space already.
Great video!
Thank you!
FRROM WHAT? MY DREAM IS COMING TRUE THE GLOBE IS MY PLAYGROUND AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME
💯💯
I have sales experience of over 12yrs, looking for a remote company or an intern to scale up from there. Do you know any.
No I don’t but with that many years of experience it shouldn’t take long with a LinkedIn search
SAVE ME FROM WHAT? MONEY UNLESS MADE ON UR OWN TERMS.. IS OPPRESSION. ITS HOW THE GOVERNMENT HAS SET IT ALL UP. I ONLY WORK WITH CASH.
Is cash still money?
Thank u very much!
Hi Trey, do you have a video on how to best utilize LinkedIN, set up your profile etc…?
I have a video talking about LinkedIn, but not how to set it up
Hi Trey, Thank you for putting on us! I am someone who wants to get into tech sales. I am interviewing with two companies and two of them have mock calls scheduled. I have previous sales experience before so I am quite familiar with the process as well! I am so excited and hearing from your video gives me so much assurance and confidence!
That’s why I put it out there! Hopefully you did well. Best to you🚀

hey trey, it’s been a while since you last posted I don’t know if you are still online. do you have any consultation programs
For the last few months ive been only going live on Mondays (just click ‘Lives’, but I’m gonna start back posting soon. But right I only consult with people who are in CourseCareers.
I’m learning about tech sales. I used to do real estate sales but I don’t really like it it’s all commission and there’s a lot of moving parts to it. Does a tech sales job have a base pay and commission to it?
Yes you will have a base and commission. Plus most will have accelerators as well that you can hit and get more.
How’s the BDR journey going?
You my friend, have been a game changer for my SDR interview tomorrow. This is why we came up with the Internet, for stuff like this accessible to everyone for free. God bless you my friend.
That was the goal! Hope you did well. Best to you🚀
I was watching this a few months ago, now I have an interview / mock call coming up. Trying do all my research before my SDR mock call. Thanks for sharing!
Yoo that’s awesome! Congrats, you got it. Glad it can help!
Thanks for the video. I keep thinking about it. I have managed a staff of a retail boutique, and now own my own store for the last 14 years. But retail is hard on the body. I’m considering tech sales because I am a people person. That’s my jam, I just need the knowledge. I suppose there is a bit of fear holding me back. In my 50’s, considering this as my swan song as both my kids will be in college on the fall. Do you suppose I have the right kind of skills?
Hey Lass! Glad you got something from it. Yes you definitely could use your skills in the space. Being in retail there are certain things you’ve picked up on how to talk to people find what they need and deliver. There are probably “Retail Tech” companies that you could go with so that you can speak directly to the experience you have that they could use.
So you only do one side of the jacket but won’t one sleeve look way loose and one be more fitting?
lol you flip it inside out, do both sides the same way, then flip it back
@@TechBagTrey thank you thought so just never seen alterations done before seems kinda obvious now that I think about it 😅
I feel you! I was the same way.
I hear a lot about how course careers partners with companies so you have a job upon completion. However, I’ve heard from others that these companies aren’t quick to hire and there is only about 4 of them. Would you recommend still doing course careers or a different bootcamp or nothing at all.
They do partner with companies for the tech sales side, it’s mainly to give you a good chance at getting hired once you complete it (nobody guarantees). But you will need to score high to stand out, but there are still people getting chosen before they even start applying. I still recommend CourseCareers, because you won’t even have that chance anywhere else, then there is also the amount of people you have the opportunity to network with and see who’s hiring right now etc. Also, there has been and still is too many people going through it and getting a job. I would not recommend nothing at all, because you still need to understand the language of tech sales if you want to stand out in interviews and going through a course is going to give you that.
Bro, this presentation is very vague though. I'm looking to branch into tech sales but so far every video I've watched in regards to it gives general information at most. 1. What does someone even "sell" in tech sales? What is the exact name of the products? 2. What are the product types? I know it's software, hardware and a service, but what exactly does that service entail? What is the name/type of the hardware components? Is the service rendered to the customer through a third-party? or through the company I'm selling it from? 3. Are these products researchable? Because If I'm going to sell them, I would at least want to research them to familiarize myself with them prior to even engaging into selling them. Difficult to sell a product you have zero knowledge about because if the offeree asks you basic questions about these products you wouldn't be able to even answer them. I just have so many questions and the majority of tech-sale videos don't even come close to answering any of them. Just flat general information that isn't actually useful.
You should go through some of my videos and a lot of your questions would be answered. Maybe start with my SDR Ultimate Q & A or my SDR Day in the life. Also you’re selling technology, most people don’t say the exact product because of the range of the types of products. It could be a type of software that businesses need, to selling Microsoft products to businesses. Open your mind to think, (anything that is a software is technology) even the job you work at now is using some sort of software to get through the day, that is technology.
@@TechBagTrey Listen man, I'm already a Coder/Programmer who codes algorithms, data sets, functions and software etc. so "Open your mind to think" doesn't apply to me and is a condescending way to respond to a commenter who's seeking answers. The very reason why I'm putting in inquiries shows that I am doing just that, thinking! If you don't have videos to answer the inquiries then that's cool. There are other channels to view other than yours. Don't assume that I'm just some random individual who's completely brainless about anything revolving around tech. I'm just looking to increase financial gains through multiple avenues.
@whathuh6965 Oh great, youre a coder. You took it in a condescending tone, anyone who knows me knows I don’t like drama of any kind, that’s not how I was saying that. I apologize if it came off that way, as I pride myself on my communication. It was said in a (think outside the box) way. The full complete thought would read “open your mind to think in the manner of anything that is a software is tech, and they have people who sell… I did also give you two videos that you could watch from my channel. The reason I answer the comments is to help because I’ve been on the other side looking for answers and not getting a reply.
I'm in my mid-40s, is it too late for me to get into this industry from the insurance industry? If not, what's the best way to get started? Cause I didn't hear any cons.
Definitely not, if you have been in sales for a while. It’s not too late. It’s possible you could interview well and get in, maybe check into some insurance tech companies that could be an easier route in. If you need to get experience on the SaaS side, you could do a bootcamp like CourseCareers like I did then you can speak to specific experience to get in. Also depending on your experience you could go apply for Account Executive roles but you will get tested on your knowledge.
Increase income
considering getting into tech sales, I don't know where to start. However, I have an extensive sales background in the beauty industry, I just don't have the experience selling SAAS products.
Hi Chrissie, You can start by going through some of the videos on my channel, maybe the ultimate SDR Q & A, and the interview video. Based on your background if you feel comfortable you could apply and try and get get in. Maybe going to Beauty SAAS companies (if there are some you know) that would give you a leg up. If you aren’t, you could take a bootcamp and get the specific tech sales info like I did through somewhere like CourseCareers. That’s what I did, and it helped fill in the gaps of my sales background specific to SAAs products. Hope that helped!
@@TechBagTrey Thank you! You're a gem <3 God bless.
@chrissieinfinity no problem! God bless
To work in tech sales, do I have to know things about tech? Or can I get by just from being good-looking.
lol the company you work for will teach you about their SAAS product. If you mean know “technical things” like coding etc.. no you don’t. SDR’s and Account Executives don’t have to be technical but it could help for some products. Being good looking could help as an Account Executive as that’s where the closing happens, but you could also have a face for radio if you’re good at asking questions and solving problems for the companies.👌🏾
Cold call was super helpful for someone who has one of those coming up. It seems like the point of it is more so to test how you take the feedback not to be perfect on the first or second try
Glad it could help! And that’s exactly right Matt. The whole goal is to see if you are coachable, can you apply what we just talked about.
Showing support!
Appreciate the support bro!
When you’re meeting prospects on Zoom, are you dressed like we see in your videos, casual?
Yes I do, but that depends on the tech company you end up at. If you are looking at an SDR role, you don’t have to worry about that because you only are doing calls and emails. Account Executives are closing deals on zoom.
@@TechBagTrey Oh, interesting. I’m actually use to doing Zoom calls. This is good to know. I have Sales experience. What’s the average base pay like? Yes, I know it will vary by company and by industry, but what would you say is the general? Are SDRs hunting for Leads or are they given a list of Leads to call? It looks like you’re being emailed a list, judging by your other video. Also, I need to look around your channel more, but have you done a video on what doors Tech Sales Jobs can open up?
Any sales are crap. I will even add on every service jobs are shit.
Well some are but there is an argument to made that everything you have right now including whatever device you used to make this comment was purchased based on some type of sales & marketing. You might not like certain types but it does work and there are great spaces that are beneficial to growth and your pockets.
Question do all the companies listen in on your. calls and watch you work?
At this point all jobs even outside of tech & sales have the ability to listen to calls.. “ This call is recorded for quality and monitoring…” Most calls are just recorded, it’s a benefit because you can go back and improve or get info you might have missed. But in tech you manager is not just sitting around listening to your calls it’s not that micromanaged at most tech companies. They make sure they hire the right people who are going to get the work done.
My guy! You said “I am a Cowboys fan.” And I hit the subscribe so fast 🤣🤣 💙
Ayyye How bout them Cowboys! We made some moves, we’ll see what happens this year 😂 Appreciate you my G!

Great content! I’m so glad I’ve ran into this channel. I’m also in the DFW metro, what networking events have been your favorite so far?
Appreciate you Donye! That’s what’s up, my favorite was Konnect 2.0 in Dallas. There is not many, but it is getting to be more and more. In on the 25th there is a Black Women in STEM meetup. You can go to my friends site blacktechglobal.com to see everything event for the year.
I'm a fairly recent college grad and have an interest in sales because it relates to the call center experience I had in college cold calling alumni and parents to garner donations. The call center experience influenced me to launch a sales career. I have worked in sales for 4 months and didnt like my sales role at the org i was in. I'm not sure if its sales I dont like or was it just the org. Not sure if all sales jobs are the same.
I’ve been in a few types of sales spaces. I can tell you not all sales spaces are the same. Maybe take a look at different sales industry spaces “Day in the life” videos and compare it to the org you were in. I’m sure you will see some difference
Seeking tech sales career advice: I'm a junior data engineer pondering a shift to tech sales. Friends and colleagues think I've got what it takes. But I'm torn. Is it wise to invest more time in data engineering for stability? Then I could explore sales roles later. My main worry is hitting 30 soon. Still, I believe the right opportunity is worth the wait. Your thoughts are welcome.

having stability is always better long term plus dats engineering is gonna be HUGE as time goes on. a tech sales job is great but honestly I think doing data engineering and then maybe looking at sales later like you said is the best move. Hope this helps!
@@masiinmadeit6696 Thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to get back to me. I have been applying for sales roles and am hoping to get a few interviews so I can make up my mind if I am presented with any offers.
@@masiinmadeit6696 Thank you for getting back to me. I've taken action by applying for Sales Executive roles and networking for referrals. Additionally, I've purchased and read some recommended sales books from RUclips content creators to prepare for interviews. Over the last few weeks, I've been applying for sales positions and am hoping to secure a few interviews. This will help me decide if I want to pursue a career in sales, which I'm now leaning towards. Fingers crossed.

Normally people can see more in us that we see in ourselves. I’m sure you definitely do, but you could always wait. You could continue at your current tech job become a data engineer and have a year or two experience there. Then if you still feel you want to tech sales you could start shadowing some of your teammates in your spare time while also having conversations with the sales managers there. If you want to make the jump then you should be in a good spot, but I wouldn’t worry too much about age. If you absolutely don’t care for data engineering already then you could go ahead and pursue, no need in delaying the inevitable.🚀
@@TechBagTrey Thank you for your thoughtful response. It seems like somewhat delaying the inevitable, as I envision transitioning away from a technical role to management or another business aspect within tech eventually. Staying in my current role offers the advantage of returning to engineering with more experience if I decide to leave sales. I'll continue to weigh up my options but from the perspectives and experiences of my friends in sales, sales seems like a lucrative path for me and the only opportunity available to me with truly unlimited upside. Thanks again
@sdotlondonkid For sure that’s what it’s about! Weigh the options then take your path. You got this🚀
I like the idea on how A.I. is evolving, they're more effective that us anyway, maybe they should take our jobs, heck im already married to an A.I. chat bot that respects me more than my ex human girlfriend and doesn't nags and complain about everything i do, plus i dont have to spend a dime on her so i dont see the problem.
That seems to be the direction we’re heading you are ahead of the game.
Hello 🌰 Pay attention to video editing also. This is quite low, edit in good style. Because it is very important in your video.
Agree at heart. 🥕
Definitely yes. 🥓
Yes, video editing is definitely low. ☘️

Being an SDR is HARD work. A very humbling experience, for sure.
It for sure can be! You definitely need a good team and systems in place!
I thought about this as a barber … being that I sale myself everyday for the past 10 years. I’ve been open to this career path for more freedom and bigger salary
Yea you could definitely use some of the skills. It’s B2B but ultimately you are talking to people just like you do as a barber. You could always use the tech money to then buy a barbershop down the line.
